Andrew Kong (Naturopathic Doctor/Chiropractic
Physician/Acupuncturist)
As director of Northern Illinois Medical Group, Dr. Andrew
Kong had a vision of creating a multifaceted holistic
health center where his patients could get the
chiropractic and acupuncture treatment they desired yet
still be able to see a family physician and other
specialists if needed. At the beginning of 2008 he added
to his staff a family physician, neurologist and an
additional chiropractic physician/acupuncturist.
Dr. Kong, a native of Hawaii, began his chiropractic
career in Glendale and Los Angeles, California with an
Associates of Arts Degree. He then completed his
pre-chiropractic qualifications at Westcoast University in
Los Angeles and then later completed his Bachelor of
Science -Human Biology at National College of
Chiropractic.
Since graduating Dr. Kong has completed many post-graduate
educational programs including Acupuncture, Internal
disorders, Female disorders, Orthopedics & Physical
Rehabilitation. Dr. Kong is also thoroughly trained in
nutrition, acute and delayed sensitivities, and how the
body reacts and regenerates itself according to what it is

 Dr. Ronald
Masukawa (D.A.N.! Trained Physician/Chiropractic
Physician/Acupuncturist)
Dr. Ronald A. Masukawa graduated from the National College
of Chiropractic in 1993 and completed a Clinical Practice
Residency through an accelerated post-graduate studies
program. As a Chiropractic Physician and Certified
Acupuncturist, he has devoted his professional life to the
concepts of preventive medicine. Dr. Masukawa began his
career in Crystal lake, IL, where he continues to maintain
a private practice. Working with NIMG since 2000, he
brings his experience and skill in chiropractic,
acupuncture, orthomolecular nutrition, ergonomics, women's
health and pediatrics.
An additional 2 yr Diplomat program in Pediatrics provides
for more options in the care of expectant mothers, infants
and children of all ages. One area of focus has been
fertility treatment. He has truly enjoyed assisting those
with fertility issues. He also will work closely with the
patient during the prenatal and prenatal stages and with
the birth of the child, will evaluate and care for the
infant to allow for the best development possible.
Prevention is still the key to living a higher quality
lifestyle. As a certified BACKSAFE and SITTINGSAFE
consultant, Dr. Masukawa has become an expert on
prevention programs designed to reduce injuries on and off
the job. After an on-site assessment, workshops are
"customized" to address the specific needs of those in
attendance according to their job tasks. These workshops
demonstrate exercises and stretches, bio-mechanical
techniques and numerous health tips to prevent back
injuries, carpal tunnel syndrome and other cumulative
stress disorders. Some of his clients have included Jones
Intercable, Scot Forge, PIP Printing and United Airlines.
Worker's compensations and personal injury cases have
always been a part of the clinic's caseload. It is because
of this that Dr. Masukawa gained certification in Motor
Vehicle Injury and Crash Dynamics. This training should
prove to be helpful in offering evidence necessary to
establish patient care and reimbursement.
 Dr.
Jonathan Taylor (Chiropractic Physician/Acupuncturist)
Dr. Jonathon Taylor first experienced Chiropractic
Medicine as a patient while earning his Bachelor of
Science degrees in Physics and Life Science from the
University of Missouri Rolla in 1998. This initiated a
desire to learn more about Chiropractic while he was
continuing his education at the University of Missouri
Kansas City, earning his Master of Science degree in
Biophysics in 2002. After a short break, he returned to
academics in 2004 to become a chiropractic physician,
earning his Doctor of Chiropractic Degree from National
University of Health Sciences in December of 2007.
Dr. Taylor studied acupuncture while at National
University, merging Traditional Chinese Medicine
philosophy with Chiropractic, and other Western Medicine
techniques, to bring another perspective to his patients
to provide the best care possible.
Utilizing chiropractic manipulation, acupuncture, proper
nutrition and herbal therapies, he treats the patient as a
whole with treatment programs tailored to each individual.
Dedicated to providing a holistic approach to healing
patients, with a focus on internal disorders such as
asthma, GERD, ulcers and irritable bowel syndrome, Dr.
Taylor intends to further continue his education by
pursuing a Diplomat from the American Board of
Chiropractic Internists. Dr. Taylor is currently accepting
new patient appointments.
 Dr.
Susan Crowe (Family Medicine)
Dr. Susan L. Crowe joined Northern Illinois Medical Group
in 2008 providing our patients access to a family practice
discipline, as well as offering assistance to those who
wish to transition to a more holistic approach to
healthcare. While English is her native tongue, she is
also proficient in Spanish which allows greater
understanding of her patients needs.
Dr. Crowe acquired her undergraduate degree in Psychology
with a minor in Biology and Chemistry from the University
of Illinois Chicago and Champaign Urbana in 1987. She
graduated medical school from Northwestern University
Feinberg School of Medicine in 1999 and completed her
residency in 2002 with La Grange Community Family
Practice.
Dr. Crowe has extensive research experience regarding
studies of Alzheimers and Operative Epileptic patients.

 Dr. Maurice Velasco (Chiropractic
Physician/Acupuncturist)
Northern Illinois Medical Group proudly announces the
inclusion of Dr. Maurice Velasco to their panel of very
distinguished doctors. Dr. Velasco received his Doctorate
degree at the National College of Chiropractic in Lombard.
Prior to attending National, he attended Elmhurst College
and the University of Illinois in Chicago with an emphasis
in pre-med and pre-veterinarian.
Being in the health care field is something that comes
naturally to him, as his father is a pediatrician and his
mother a nurse. Dr. Velasco is a firm believer of the
holistic approach practiced at NIMG, which focuses on
treating the cause rather than the symptom, and by
prescribing preventative therapy.
